Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data Muninn ("the Bot") collects, why it is collected, and how it is stored and protected.

What data we collect

When a server administrator runs /summon, the Bot stores what it needs to run that watcher, and nothing else. Exactly which of the following applies depends on the kind of watcher you set up:

What we storeWhy
Server and channel IDsTo know which configuration belongs to which Discord server, and which channel to post in
Message IDsSo the Bot can edit its own message on each update instead of posting a duplicate
Watcher nameThe name you choose, so you can tell your watchers apart when running /config and /despawn
Provider credentialsGame server watchers only. Encrypted, and used to fetch your status from Nitrado, your Pterodactyl panel, or your server directly
Watched channelStream watchers only. The Twitch or Kick channel you named, plus the latest public details of its stream, used to detect when it goes live
Watched feedFeed watchers only. The URL you named, plus the feed's title, icon, and a marker for the most recent item, so each item posts once
Custom messageOptional. Posted above each stream or feed notification, exactly as you wrote it
TimestampsOrdering and audit
The Bot does not read your channels. It stores no Discord usernames, no member IDs, and no messages from your server. The only free text it keeps is the optional custom message an administrator writes when setting up a watcher.

How data is used

The stored data is used solely to operate the watchers you set up: fetching your game server's status from your configured provider, checking whether a stream is live, reading a feed for new items, and posting or updating the resulting message in your chosen channel. No data is sold, shared, or used for any other purpose.

Provider credentials security

Only game server watchers involve credentials. Stream and feed watchers need nothing more than a public channel name or a feed URL.

Your provider credentials (API token, panel key, or connection details) are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored, using a key held only in the Bot's server environment, so they are never readable directly from the database. They are only ever sent to your configured provider (Nitrado's API, your Pterodactyl panel, or queried directly at your server's own IP:port) to retrieve your server's status. They are never logged, displayed in full, or transmitted to any other party. When shown via /config, only the first 6 characters of a secret are visible and the rest is masked.

Data retention and deletion

Each watcher's data is retained for as long as that watcher exists. Running /despawn and selecting a watcher immediately stops its updates and deletes everything stored for it. Your other watchers keep running. Once you have despawned all of them, no data about your server remains.

Feed records are shared between servers that watch the same URL. When the last server watching a given feed despawns it, that feed record is deleted as well.

Third-party services

The Bot communicates with the following external services:

Only the services you configure are contacted, and only what they need is sent. No other third-party services receive your data.

Data hosting

The PostgreSQL database is hosted on Railway (railway.app), with servers located in the United States. The Bot itself runs on the same platform. The website is served via Cloudflare Pages with edge nodes worldwide. No data is stored on the website. It is a static, read-only frontend with no analytics or tracking.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your data:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the email address in the Contact section. We aim to respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the Bot after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of Service

By inviting or using Muninn you agree to these terms.

Use of the Bot

Limits

Each Discord server may run up to five game server watchers per provider type, five stream watchers, and ten feed watchers. These limits exist to keep the Bot within the rate limits of the services it calls, and they may change as the Bot grows.

Availability

The Bot is provided free of charge and on an as-is basis. We make no guarantees of uptime, accuracy of data, or continued availability. The service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice.

Liability

The Bot is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Bot, including but not limited to data loss, service downtime, or inaccurate server status information.

Removal

We reserve the right to remove any server from the Bot at our discretion, particularly in cases of abuse or violation of these terms.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated at any time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Bot constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
